Pros

The Salvation Army is a great place to work, as an intern I saw that they help people from all walks of life and don't discriminate. I would love a chance to go back if the right job opened up.

Cons

An issue I saw was the lack of funds. They are run on donations and in this economy they are also struggling to provide the help that the community needs.

Advice to Management

Keep up the good work.

    Pros

It's a non-profit organization and you really do get to help others. Opportunities for advancement. Rules and requirements are easy to follow and very straight-forward.

    Cons

Some of your co-workers have just as many problems as the people you help. Pay is low. Management is sometimes reactional and displays power thrusting.

    Advice to Management

Think passed the conversation taking place - do not react to what one person says; do your own investigation. Once rules and policies are put in to place - follow them.

  2. Good organization for whom to work. Good pay, great work environment and an excellent benefits package. Sundays off!

    Pros

Good pay, great environment, excellent benefits. Sundays off

    Cons

Ever changing schedule. Flexible schedule almost always works to the employer's advantage

    Advice to Management

Standardized training in ALL aspects of training. Too much is done without formal written training material. Training manual would be most helpful, if you desire stores to be run in certain ways
