I worked at Salvation Army full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Helping those in dire straights.

    Cons

Not supporting their staff. Quick to do "write ups" without getting employee's explanation of event. On the other hand, do not praise when praise is due. The use ofCommunity Service workers is more of a headache to the employees who are understaffed, yet are expected to get a certain amount of work done based on having the "help" of these non-employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Many of the "customers" tell lies; this is a known fact to all employees. Yet, management will rather get rid of an employee than back them up over a customer's complaint. This goes for the Community Service workers as well. Most are difficult, at best, to follow direction. This can cause difficulties getting daily tasks done. However, the burden falls on that of the employee who is trying to do their best and does get recognized for it!
