I have been working at Sam's Club part-time (more than an year)

Pros

Instead of joining a health club I would recommend working at Sam's. You would save on annual fee and get fit at the same time.

Cons

Have to sell memberships, plus memberships, renewals and credit applications in addition to pushing product across the scanner.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Salary is not commensurate with what a cashier is expected to do.

I worked at Sam's Club part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Pay for a college student was good (could not survive if this was my career). Hours were consistent and you met a wide variety of people from all kinds of backgrounds. Was easy for me to move up and was promoted once during my one year of employment and was about to be promoted again before deciding to leave.

    Cons

It's the mother of all retail, and the customers feel entitled because they buy a membership, never been cursed at more. Impossible to get time off. Not the most intelligent co-workers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

My management was above par from my understanding. Don't be as tolerant of rudeness from employees to members.

    Pros

Get to pick up groceries and other items on the way home. Sometimes find bargains when they are closing out merchandise.

    Cons

Poor salary, no advancement, terrible hours
