I worked at Sam's Club part-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Better hours than a grocery store
    Higher pay than average
Opportunity for advancement if work hard and that's what you want.

    Cons

The Higher up are out of touch with what really happening at store level.
Some mangers that don't care about their employees.
Favoritism by mangers based on skin color and HR Regional mangers that does nothing about all the complaints.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

HQ needs to get rid of mangers that play favorites based on color of skin when multiple complaints have been made and not on the quality of work or talent of those who are in their department.

I have been working at Sam's Club full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

There is potential if you have no education to make 40k+ but it is hard to do.

    Cons

They work a lot on career advancement and scheduling promises. You contract for 50 hours and some managers work less, however there are 1-3 picking up the slack and working 60+.
Ethical compliance is swept under the rug and the term "accountability" is used as a general threat that can mean you will be yelled at or fired, but you never know which it is. Stay away unless you have no other options. College graduates hold out for another company. This or Wal Mart on your résumé closes doors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your people better and they will meet the higher standards.
