Pros

Staff on the floor work hard and do their best for the most part. (These folks in many cases are working 2 jobs to get ahead.) Customers can be interesting and also demanding. Always interesting to see what is being purchased.

Cons

All decisions made out of corporate, good selling products get discontinued for a whim. Low salary, poor raises, any reason to limit your raise is used.

Extremely High turnover, low morale especially with the cut back of staff and decreased hours. Want all floor staff to do floor work, be register trained ( not enough cashiers) & fork lift trained ( but there isn't enough staff to start with?), and all for the same low wage.

If you speak your mind, point out areas that could be improved, you get your hours cut back and no raise

Advice to Management

Unfortunately, Senior Management is both tone deaf and in denial. Customers are leaving in droves, fed up with items cancelled, poor staffing and no answers. So discouraging when the staff wants to do the job right, but you can't when there are no hours and few employees.

Store Management tries but their hands are tied and they know but don't want to hear it as there is nothing they can do.

Please address the salary issues, staffing and respect your employees as the turnover is killing us.

Store staff could give feedback but it would never go anywhere so we don't try, it would only get us in trouble

    Pros

easy food. very standard. From my experience the less you know about food service, then its a good beginner job.

    Cons

they do not follow food codes. the person who was in charge of deli did not train her new employes. she left other people to do her part , ones that did not wish to train and would complain that they had to do so. the older employes had no drive to do things rite , would talk about sams club unfair pay and just took their time and did things ( their way) . they didnt like to be questioned and was quick to find ways to quiet anyone down. such as if a new employe did something wronge like as in not wash their hands after handling money, they would jump on the moment to go tattle tail. however they would pressure the new person in saying hurry up , joke and poke fun at them to get them to bend the rules. Lol , i guess this is how they show that they are good workers. Mangement doesn't care , they just dont want any new problems so they let them have their way. I admit i should learn to go with the flow, but i cant stand getting in trouble for something i already guessed was being done wronge . ( food temp is never the same. broken display case , flickering dimming out, refuse to buy proper pizza slicer, cleans floors and tables with bleach block because lack of cleaning the tables during the day. shuts done food earlier , tells customers that they are out of a product when they are not, sells their pizza doh in large bulk so that there is no doh to make pizza. improper shut down of equipment. just some pretty basic (donts) of food service i thought .

    Advice to Management

The safety manager is on top of things. Follows the rules, does her job. Pay attention , if you see things being done wrong or unfair treatment, handle it. If you got to run around going nuts because your getting ( compony) then more then likely its because you let things go.
