I have been working at Sam's Club full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The work itself is interesting, the job is not too high-tension, and the coworkers are great. Lots of good people who treat each other well and really care. The team leads and managers have their hands tied by corporate to a degree, but they care as much as anyone else does.

    Cons

The pay is not that great of course, but I knew that going in.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I wish the company would spend more money up-front and staff the clubs better. Every department is understaffed and it shows. Also a lot of the merchandise goes out of stock way too much and it is very frustrating for members. The biggest problem is a lack of overnight stocking.

I worked at Sam's Club full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Competitive pay when your in training because it is hourly ($20.92 per hour). Pay for salary was approx. 43k which is low compared to the amount of hours you work; however, there was an opportunity for yearly bonus based on the club's performance. The members and associates were great to work with.

    Cons

Benefit cost was high and the benefits were terrible. There was no work-life balance. Once you are salary it only gets worse, you will work many hours and are expected to put the club first. If considering a position with this company, I would highly suggest working in a low volume club.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to focus on your regular, hourly associates. Also focus on the community you serve. They are a big part of your operation!
