I have been working at Sam's Club part-time for less than a year

Pros

The mangers worked with you to help you be successful. I got 2 promotions in less than a year. Great chances to move around.

Cons

You HAVE to be a seller to work in any job that deals with members. I used to think it was stupid and hard but then I realized that membership is how sams makes money. Renewals, upgrades to plus, and credits are your goal each day. Get as many members as you can to do one of the three. Must be fit because you have to transfer everything from one cart to another. Water, dog food, etc.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider focusing on member service rather than getting members to upgrade their membership to plus.

I have been working at Sam's Club full-time

    Pros

401K, Profit sharing, clubs close at 830, community giving

    Cons

No work/life balance whatsoever, harassing members to sell plus memberships and credit accounts and having to meet unrealistic quotas for each, having direction to increase sales slammed down our throats yet the company constantly cuts wages and hours so clubs are terribly understaffed, micromanagement from upper management, extremely low wages for hourly associates, scheduling system is more trouble than good

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get back to focusing on why the company was founded. Get back to sharing the importance of company culture. The greed has to stop, it's ruining the reputation of the company

I have been working at Sam's Club part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You get hours if you know who to kiss up to.

    Cons

If your not one of the kind you will never make it far. They will find a way to either make your life hell or get rid of you. After years with this company I'm finally realizing there is no way I will ever become more then what I am. I'm not one of them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Grow up and realize which ones are fake and who really does all the work and whos fooling you.
