I have been working at San Antonio

    Pros

New department head may improve culture, seems determined to stand up against bullies, corruption, favoritism, and good old boys.

    Cons

Incompetency is widespread. If you want be effective, you will be targeted and attacked routinely. Young people early in their careers will not be exposed to best practices that real businesses know about. I came from Fortune 100 sector and am astonished to see how ignorant the public sector is.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find a back door and get rid of the non performers. Hire competent talent and let them begin directing innovation. Run the city like a business.

    I worked at San Antonio

    Pros

Hands on work alongside the Mayor and his staff is the daily routine for interns.

    Cons

There is not a lot of space for interns in the office, but there is a solid space available in City Hall itself for work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They did a great job in making sure the interns were involved, which I hope will be an attitude that is continued.
