I have been working at San Diego Gas & Electric part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of areas for job advancement. There are union positions and regular positions available throughout the company. You can definitely make a career out of any position in the company.

    Cons

Like any company out there sometimes budget constraints can make or break a position in the company.

I worked at San Diego Gas & Electric full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Wonderful fellow employees, I enjoyed so many friendships while working for S.D.G.&E. I was fortunate enough to advance to a joy where I was allowed to make some major decisions, and was supported by Managment

    Cons

Every job or position in all companies have there road blocks, however management was always trying to implement change's to better the daily operation. I have read postings referring S.D.G.&E. as a Good Old Boys Club. I believe these postings are mistaken, The workers I came in contact with for those 32 years, thought of themselves as being a family, perhaps some folks were unable to join this wonderful family of friends.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the great work. this is from a man who started my career digging ditches by pick and shovels, working my way up to Field Mechanic, relief working foreman. I left S.D.G.&E. in 1991
