Was a good company before Platinum took over and destroyed what little morale was left.

    Pros

Used to be a good company, full of creative people and ideas, but most of them are gone. Can't say there are any pros to working for this dying company.

    Cons

Probably biggest con is that those left are doing 3 or 4 people's jobs, not knowing if they will still be there tomorrow.

Was once a great place to work but now run the other way!

I worked at San Diego Union-Tribune

    Pros

The location is nice and many nice people do still work at the UT but it's a tough place to stomach seeing many great people lose their jobs on a regular basis.

    Cons

The shrinking newspaper industry is the primary reason that the UT is no longer the place to work. It's has now become a place where you survive until your number has been called or your so fortunate enough to find something better. All the great benefits have been stripped away and the pay is not any better. It's a shame what the new owners are doing to the paper and sosd.com

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hmmm....this place is so deep down the drain I wouldn’t even know where to begin. I think ownership would need to be given over to someone who truly cares about the newspaper industry.
