    Pros

Great pay, great balance between life and work. Projects are long term, if that is what suits you. Definite job security.

    Cons

There is too much red tape but it is a government organization. That is to be expected when dealing with the government.

I have been working at San Francisco Public Utilities Commission

    Pros

The benefits are great, and work is not that hard. Its great place to settle down once you are married with kids but not a great place to start ones career.

    Cons

There was a lack of diversity. My floor was 95% percent asian including me. Only hire people from other races when the man upstair cracks down on them. Lots of rumors about nepitism. People worked very little and take breaks very often. Instead of settling drama between management there are those who prefer spending millions of dollars spending tax payers money on consultants instead of settling issues with staff. You only make it to the top if you play dirty and are cut throat. Nice people do not get far in the Engineering Management Bureau of the San Francisco Public Utilies Commision.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more attention to what people underneath are saying. A diverse work environment actually is better so consider hiring people from other backgrounds other than your own.
