I worked at San Francisco State full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

The projects I worked on were high profile within the University and in some cases, across multiple campuses of the California State University. Calm but challenging work environment. Ability to play multiple roles. I served as a front-end / Ui / UX developer, a backend PHP developer, an instructor, a committee member, etc.

Cons

Salary was somewhat low (even compared to similar positions in other departments on campus). However, the benefits are great and helped to offset the low salary.
