I have been working at San Jose State part-time (more than an year)

Pros

Great campus – You will love walking around the campus and appreciate it's beauty.. Friendly staff. Good people that you'll look forward to seeing on a daily basis.

Cons

Not much opportunity for advancement unless you're on some type of planning committee. Sometimes the homeless people that walk around campus can become a distraction/nuisance.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop the bureaucracy – There's too much waste when there are so many levels to go through when you need something done or fixed from upper management.

Could be a great place but salaries are insulting and respect for staff is questionable.

I have been working at San Jose State full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits and so far...job security.

    Cons

No salary increases in years. Lack of respect for staff, because they focus on students and faculty. New job positions are "low-balling" the salaries.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think if you can live on the salaries that you are offering.
