Sanofi was a good learning experience overall, but the company morale has been lacking since 2006.

Pros

Sanofi had incredible benefits and good training.

Cons

The company morale has been terrible since 2006. Many reps are underutilized and feel non- productive since there are still so many reps in each area.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

It is great they are doing voluntary severances now, as there are many disgruntled workers and they looking for a way out. Reps should feel more accountability in their territories--there are still way too many reps in each territory, even the diabetes division. Less reps would mean more productivity and more accountability.

I have been working at Sanofi-Aventis

    Pros

    Great benefits
    Modern environment
    Central location

    Cons

Management does not seem to know what they are doing day to day as well as overall

Top Management making too many changes at the same time without asking for examples or working through real pilot periods where statistics and analysis govern keeping or dumping that strategy

Mergers occur without any reassurance for growth

Top producers are being lost to other competing companies while the mediocre performers are kept simply because they hold a doctorate degree

Quality is suffering due to the numerous and sudden changes in policy and procedure -as soon as the latest policy is adapted another new one is already being rolled out

If direct management does know what is going on they do not tell staff or wait until the change is already rolled out which causes mistrust and lack of respect

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Insist on true Pilot Periods before committing to a vendor prescribed plan...don't pay in full until you know the plan works

Listen to the leaders and top producers feedback during pilot periods

Insist on quality performance and give employees and contractors the tools to perform their job perfectly and consistently.

Communicate changes quickly and personally with teams and other management

  2. Never know who is being laid off next, or when, & very little promotion potential - morale is terrible.

    Pros

The benefits package is very good, especially the 401K match and vacation days. The cafeteria is also good. That’s about it.

    Cons

Morale is very low and pressure is high. So many people have been let go that the remaining employees are doing the work of three. Neither promotions nor firings seem to be based on talent, knowledge, or accomplishments. HR changes its review process and approach every year.
