I have been working at Santander Consumer USA full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

The opportunities for growth are big within most areas of the business. Also, stability within the company is huge--great financials. Their market share continues to rise and gain 'street cred'. Lastly, their relaxed work attire is appealing in 100 degree summers.

Cons

Most of these are related to the hyper-growth with SCUSA. The branding of the company is still up in the air. What does SCUSA want to be when it grows up? Also, the culture of the company is still in development. How do you want to be perceived by employees? Lastly, since new areas and groups are being added, internal processes are a pain as they change regularly due to growth.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stay in contact with your mid-level and line-level employees. Company is not a small firm anymore so email and intranet are your best megaphones to get the message out.

    Pros

    Great Pay for the job, more than most in the Auto Industry, Good Benefits

    Cons

    VP level management sucks, they treat people like dirt, these AVP, VP, Directors and above are only interested in "what can you do for me", these people want you to kiss up at any expense. No ethics, No integrity in the paper they approve, the best managers who are people care about people usually are the ones that don't last.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Restructure your organization and make sure to have management who care about the people inclusive to the bottomline. Start paying attention to what your employee's are saying, they make the difference.
