Pros
It's a job at at well known company that will help you to market yourself when you look for your next opportunity.
Cons
Sara Lee was incredibly disappointing. I was looking forward to working for a respected brand at a company going through a large transformation. The cultural cruelty, politics, and arrogance of those at a VP level and above, led to employees spending most of their time trying to defend their work or playing political games instead of focusing on goals. Diversity initiatives were simply lip service and focused on one ethnic group versus including other employees. While a woman leads the company , at the time I left SL, she had no other women on the leadership team and not one person of color. Management is trying to drive every penny of expense out and focused on the outsourcing of as many functions as possible. It is not a place for a long term career.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat people with respect, give back some of the outlandish compensation perks at the VP level/above and save some jobs of lower level employees.
