I have been working at ScentAir Technologies full-time for more than a year

Pros

Open door policy that is actually open door. Fun environment Live work balance. Growing company.

Cons

management needs improvement. Some departments don't cooperate with each other. Each manager is out for themselves No bonus

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to how some of the managers interfer with other departments and some sr leaders don't know what is happening in their own backyard

    Pros

    Independent and creative sales position for the right person.

    Cons

    Poor management team. They typically hire from within and promote people who don't have the appropriate experience or training to hold management positions. Especially in marketing and sales.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen to your sales team and believe what they share with you. Be more open minded to developing relationships with customers as opposed to your typical hit and run sales approach.

    I worked at ScentAir Technologies full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Great product, easy to capture interest by cold calling.

    Cons

    If you're not in NYC, LA, Vegas or Miami, you will struggle to survive. It's easy to sell to boutique hotels that want to differentiate themselves from the competition, however, most territories don't have many. My territory had one. Also, my territory had only a dozen nursing home facilities and two casinos (that already closed the door on scent air prior to my tenure). There was no opportunity to succeed. Contrary to other comments, I hated when manager rode with me, he struggled to sell and it was uncomfortable on sales calls. Fortunately, bad weather in the northeast would get me out of ride days!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Hire 1099 employees in less ritzy areas and salespeople could sell this as their secondary product.
