I worked at Schafer Corp.

Pros

Good pay, smart people. The environment is as good as one might expect.

Cons

My manager, while technically competent and motivated was sorely lacking in people skills. Moody as well.

Also, government agencies are some of the worst, most bureaucratic clients there are.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Well done in a tough industry.

I worked at Schafer Corp. full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Working at Schafer is all about the co-workers and the great opportunities to really do something you can be proud of.

    Cons

Schafer's distributed (and diverse) operations mean that not one management size fits all. In my short stay we had a parade of CEOs, CFOs and managers - none of whom could satisfactorily overcome the lost their small business status and subsequently much of their Government business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sell the company to another small business or watch your company (and investment) wither away.

    Recommends
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
