Schlumberger is a great company to work for if you can handle hard labor and long hours.

    Pros

Oil field pays higher than other 9-5 jobs. You are given more consecutive time off than regular jobs. Opportunity to make a lot of money based on work provided. Bonuses are given by how many jobs you can catch, not hourly.

    Cons

During your work week, scheduling is inconsistent because you are working "on demand" and must be available 24/7. Pay scale is not consistent, some long difficult jobs do not pay as much as the workers deserve. Jobs are "on demand" meaning you could work 15 days and not catch any jobs (no jobs = no bonus)

    Advice to Management

The management system needs to be reviewed and changed. There is no on-site higher management, the people making the decisions don't see the everyday work that the employees do. They run this site from another state.

  2. It is a good company for training but not working for a long time.

    Pros

If you are a freshman and you want to find some experience and training, Schlumberger is one of the best in the Oilfield. It is very well-known and professional company.

    Cons

You have to work more than normal of other Oilfield companies (much more than). You are under a very high pressure. You are getting paid much less than other similar Oilfield companies.

    Advice to Management

A lots of Schlumberger employees quit just because of lack of days off (and usually irregular days off). The fault detection system in Schlumberger is just looking to find any reason to make its field engineer guilty. They should change this two big drawbacks.
