I worked at Schlumberger full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great place to learn and gain experience. Good working environment and meet people from all over the world. QHSE policies encapsulated in the work culture.

    Cons

The way people are treated during economic downturn when staffing had to be reduced. It was tough for me to sit and tell an employee that 'today is your last day of work. All your access to the network will be canceled by the end of the day'

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If the company values are firstly PEOPLE, then followed with Technology and Profits, then, at least figure out a way to keep people at bay instead of letting them go. Otherwise, they will eventually get recruited again due the their competencies and proven abilities to do work but their heart and loyalty will no longer be with the company.
