I have been working at Schlumberger full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Energetic, motivated environment, technology based, strong support of petrotechnical people (larger salaries, technical communities, technical career, strong training and development),

You determine how far you want to go with the company. If your ambitions are high and you have the material, the company will support you all the way - and gives you more and more (responsibilities, work, etc.) until the employee says stop.

Cons

Work-life balance suffers, it is now a big company that follows many interests (such as those from share holders),

I have been working at Schlumberger full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    1. Trainning and development.
    2. Career progress
    3. Mobility
    4. Salary and benefits

    Cons

    1. Short notice when you are needed for the job.
    2. Personnel not planned very well, which will makes you some sort of a tool to be used when needed.
    3. Changing management team every 2 - 3 years which changes targets and your possible development (could be delayed or someone else got preferred)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    1. Organize your work more.
    2. Plan clear work schedule for the none rotation because they are human and they have families and life too.
    3. Training has to be done every year for the personnel whether needed or not as it is part of future development and you never know what you might face in few months or a year !!!!! I happened million times in the company that a person with certain training and qualification is needed to fill a place of someone else or even to be set new at certain position !!!!
    4. Respect the law in terms of working hours and public holidays.
