I worked at Schlumberger full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Structured learning and mentorship. Responsibility given to employees very early in career (2-3yrs). Pay is good compared to peers. Discounted stock program is good.

    Cons

After GFE career progression becomes very subjective and uncoordinated. A lot of organizational changes in short time periods. No retention plan for H1B employees after six years. HR is very removed from employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Managers need better preparation to become "good managers". Most managers don't know how to manage people. Although management is ready for attrition numbers but better retention packages can be worked out by HR. Hire professional HR personnel not Engineers turned HR staff ...doesn't work 98%of the time. Change is good for business but "a lot" of change is bad... How many prior times has PTS changed names?
