Former Employee - Field Service Engineer
Former Employee - Field Service Engineer

I worked at Schneider Electric full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Great place to get experience with equipment and people.
Work from home.
Travel perks pay off well.

Cons

You are a number.
Call center will never do a good job. They anger customers and screw field engineers due to their incompetence.
You can work long off hours that increases risks.
Too many companies integrated causes overlap and confusion in policies and procedures.
Train safety but do not provide ppe for all circumstances. If you walk into a place for the first time for a night job and realize your gloves are not adequate length or your ladder is not tall enough good luck finding a store open to buy what you need. The customer still wants his job done and management will only second guess you.
Low salary.

Current Employee - Project Manager in Nashville, TN

I have been working at Schneider Electric full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Right balance between work and life
    Benefits are very competitive
Good diversity of gender, race and cultures
A lot of opportunities for career development

    Cons

A lot of burecratic process that do not let you go faster. Process are constantly changing that people never learn how to use them. Once you get them , they change!! Leadership positions are very scarce. A lot of resource managers with no technical or product experience. They are not very helpful. They can become another roadblock.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to develop their managers also in the technical aspect of the function. Having only resources managers do not create a good work culture as they never take responsibilty of the issues their people have on the day to day work.
