I worked at Schneider full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

Stable income at a powerful company

Cons

The company treats people with disrespect while pretending to care about them. Customers in this industry also treat people with disrespect. The company is constantly messing with the pay system. Sometimes the pay works out in your favor and sometimes it doesn't. Your time is not respected.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Purge management at all levels and rehire people who care.

I worked at Schneider full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Have some met some great associates, but it seems all the goods leave.

    Cons

Where to start? Little compensation, little help from managers that don't care about helping you with your career only care about how you can fill there pockets. Other logistics companies pay a lot better and give mutual respect. There are several managers that are inappropriate and unprofessional. Also told to buy into the Schneider way only to be let down and lied to. They have a huge turnover rate and unless you are handed a golden account don't plan on getting a commission check. Also managers aren't easy to approach. No opportunities to advance. Go find yourself another logistics company because there are plenty that are better and have better compensation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire managers that know how to motivate and not make employees feel uncomfortable.

I have been working at Schneider full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - The people I work with are a fun group of people
    - Some of the projects are quite interesting.
    - The high turnover causes advancement opportunities
    - Decent amount of time off early on in career, although it caps at 4 weeks at 12 years (I think there should be a fifth week at 20).

    Cons

    - The company is extremely aggressive around dead lines.
    - Upper leadership is out of touch with the associates in the trenches.
    - Managers threaten to fire people who discuss pay.
    - There is one manager (not mine) who clearly plays favorites with his associates.
    - Health Insurance has a big "donut hole" where the company does not reimburse between $750 and $2250 dollars.
    - My initial offer was significantly below the industry average and what I eventually negotiated is still low compared to what Glass Door says I'm worth.
