Former Employee - Director of Marketing in New York, NY

I worked at Scholastic full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

*Scholastic has a great reputation to its customers and the reading public
*They provide good literature at very low prices through their book clubs
*If you think about the ultimate user of the product, you feel good about what you are doing
*Good benefits

Cons

*I found very few people who actually enjoyed their jobs there
*The morale is very low, and you feel like there is a black cloud hovering overhead
*The company suffers from mismanagement starting at the very top, and the upper level management seems to be engaged in too much internal politicking and maneuvering
*The pay isn't worth the agita
