I have been working at Scotiabank as a contractor (more than an year)

Pros

Very quick intensive training, lots of coaching and great place to learn about customer service. If you have a great team then you've got a lot of fun. Generally receptive to hearing new ideas. If you have a problem with another employee they will address is efficiently. The training is probably the best part of it.

Cons

A lot of micro management, bureaucracy and inconsistency. There is a lot of pressure to earn and maintain trust and some branches are very gossip oriented and hostile. Different branches do things in their unique way - this affects customer experience and is frustrating. Also sometimes we don't show a united front, correcting each other in front of customers.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stay consistant in your messages to employees, manage difficult people properly and quickly. It would help if they didn't quickly move good management to other branches before changes have even settled.
