I have been working at Scotiabank full-time (more than a year)

Pros

The company philosophy is great.

Cons

Lack of support for new employees working in the Scotiabank branches. Most of new staff in the comercial area get lost and some just gave up of the job.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop a better support for new employees. Salary is not competitive.

    Fun, but little advancement

I have been working at Scotiabank part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Friendly environment, but at the same time there's quite a bit of politics involved. Hours are ok. Able to work shifts that fit into your schedule (part-time).

    Cons

Little advancement opportunities regardless of productivity within the your job term. Repetitive job for sure, but that is expected with this job.

  2.

Staff there are under educated, and branch management are narrow minded across the board.

Former Employee - Account Manager, Small Business in Calgary, AB (Canada)

I worked at Scotiabank full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

(At branch level)Great chance to network and expand one's personal career to other places

    Cons

Branch managers have been there for long time. Most of them have been there since they were tellers. Growth opportunities are limited to you own motivation. Do not expect to be given this chance on your own. Make sure you demand time to do so. Bonus pay is only disbursed in December......if you leave early then it is not pro-rated! Remember that!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try and encourage staff to grow in Organization and allow employees to focus in and use their strength to your advantage. Coercive mentality does not work!
