If you know what you want this is a great place to work

Senior Manager (Current Employee)
Toronto, ON (Canada)

I have been working at Scotiabank

Pros-Work-life balance
-Job stability
-Good training ground
-Good place to come if you are in middle of your career
-Good place if you land in a looking forward dept. or one with resources (i.e. Scotia Capital, Corporate Offices)
-Great place if you are a new Canadian (mainly if you come from Spanish speaking countries)

Cons-Bureaucracy
-Technology is under par - cost control culture
-Siloed thinking
-Not a great place if you are recently out of school or have fast track expectations
-Career development is pretty much up to you (network, network, network...)

Advice to Senior ManagementCome downstairs. The world is changing at surprising speed and it seems you guys are lagging behind. Invest in your people; upgrade your technology. Maintain the work culture; fire bully managers.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
