Pros

There are some good people here. They've generally given up on trying to run things properly having long ago learned it's impossible. Instead they approach life with a jolly cynicism and spend their days cheerfully putting out fires.

Cons

The rest of the staff try to run things their way which is often in opposition to the approaches of other staff and indeed common sense and engineering best practice.

Advice to Management

Learn that the solution to the "square peg round hole" problem is not getting a bigger hammer. Instead you could try being reasonable with staff, contractors and third parties.

    Pros

The people you work with tend to make the job worthwhile.
Decent wage for the job you do.

    Cons

Working in the retail sector, you have to have a good knowledge of the industry to have a chance of doing a fair job for customers. Your opinions tend to fall on deaf ears, and everything you find negative with procedure, or processes, has to be sugar coated.

    Advice to Management

Properly communicate to staff any changed in process, and have a clear and accurate system in place for when changes are made.
