    Pros

    Company has had considerable success.

    Cons

Scripps has a reputation as a methodical company, but its acquisition of the Travel Channel has been a mess. Ratings are down and the executives burned 9 million dollars in programming writeoffs. Management is erratic and threatens employees all the time. Where is the famous Scripps know-how?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Encourage communication between employees. Start investigating/intervening at Travel Channel. The new team have had a year to make their mark -- what they are doing isn't working.

I have been working at Scripps Networks Interactive

    Pros

Great people, wonderful atmosphere. It's a friendly environment so voicing concerns, when you have them, is easy. The community seems "close knit".

    Cons

I've often had a hard time having some of my requests being met. I sometimes feel overworked and isolated where I sit in the research lab. Often, because of the distance between offices and departments, it's hard for me to communicate my needs and time requirements.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I don't really have any advice, directly, to the leaders at Scripps, I think they're doing a good job reinforcing a feeling of community and "togetherness" at the company.
