I have been working at Sears full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Learning Opportunities
camaraderie among employees
Good company for managers and above ( you can settle down for the rest of your life )
Continuous Interaction with Clients ( Parent Company Sears Holdings )

Cons

Bad HR Policies .. no consistency in hikes , zero onsite opportunities , Work life balance can sometimes be pathetic .. Growth is a major concern

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please make sure your best performers are rewarded adequately.. look after their career growth instead of only asking to working on day and night out.. They will be motivated to work for you if you give them what they deserve.

P.S. I have been working at Sears for more than two years .. certainly they started as a great organization with huge potential... but for the last one year they seem to have loosing it. But still it's not a bad organization to work for if you compare with other companies especially if you are joining as manager or above or as a fresher .

I have been working at Sears full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great atmosphere and great people all around. Great opportunity for advancement. The store is getting a lot of digital things that make the job easier to do and impress our shoppers. Recognition for a job well done.

    Cons

Same as any retail store. Rotating shifts.. long hours. Holidays at work.. But we love it!

I worked at Sears as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

didn't find much, but only feeling of working for a large retailer, but end of the day the salary is low compared to others. You get 20% employee discount on every purchase.

    Cons

you get 20% employee discounts but i find most of the items still will be costly than some of the other competitors. Once a seasonal employee, very hardly they take you in permanent positions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

consider seasonal employees to get them in for permananet

    Recommends
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
