I worked at Sears full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The Sears culture and values were what attracted me to the company. My team was superb and gave 110% despite the unrealistic expectation of upper management.

    Cons

Complete lack of communication from upper management. Inquiries and suggestions were listened to but ignored. Sears has lost a lot of incredibly talented people because concerns and recommendations were not responded to at both store manager and district manager levels. Direction was given from store manager and district management levels without clear guidelines and within unrealistic deadlines while staff hours were continually cut.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Open communication with all levels of staff and respond to concerns. Implement a 360 degree review process, which includes district management level, where corporate management can gain a better understanding of store level management and staff. Consider an open door policy at district level for mid-management and staff levels.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
