I have been working at Sears full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Commission only job. Can make good money if you can sell. Great bonus structure.

Cons

Appointments are preset by Sears. You don't know when your appointments are until the morning. Drive your own car all over the state.

I have been working at Sears full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

good co-workers. customers that still shop are loyal

    Cons

low wages. little hours for full timers-32-36, All benifits we did have at one time were removed from every employee, nothing grandfathered in even for people there over 17 years company has a lot of empty sitting assests.

    Advice to Management

lower prices to get members into stores, and then members will buy other items other than just sale items. treat your employees as people other than statistics and you will have less of a turnaround and keep helpful experienced employees.

I worked at Sears full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pay is just enough to keep you comfortable. Many wonderful associates. Varied and challenging daily operations.

    Cons

No raises for Kmart associates for at least the last 4 years. Tenured associates and managers forced out. No open door policy, regardless of what is told to you. Favoritism is rampant in all levels, from store to regional areas. Falsified training in store-the goal is sit down, hurry up, get out.

    Advice to Management

Honest assessment and actual training for every manager and associate. Support for associates and managers trying to learn operations correctly. Take the millions invested in the "new culture" and invest in your people.
