Nice people to work with, but slow to have anything accomplished.

I worked at Sears full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Management was very nice, pay was fair.

    Cons

Somewhat repetitive work and it was very difficult to have anything changed within the organization. Also, funding seemed short, so lack of staff made it difficult to provide proper customer service

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat employees as adults, don't reward them with minute monetary gifts.

Sears Financial is strong entrepreneurial department

I have been working at Sears

    Pros

Within Sears Financial the spirit/culture is very entrepreneurial. Business owners have full control of their P&L and are expected to manage their business with little supervision.

    Cons

Outside of Sears Financial, the rest of Sears is still very much mired in the ‘old’ retail culture and has yet to become nimble and fully capable of dealing with changing strategies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need new blood and changing of guard.
