I have been working at Sears full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Good salaries. Okay autonomy and recognition. Bonuses are paid out.

Cons

Not sure of future company viability. I hear a lot of good internal pep talks, but it isn't making its way to the public. Consistent bad press hurts moral.

I have been working at Sears part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Flexible work schedules, easy job

    Cons

A lot of micromanagement and distrust from management to their employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Less micromanaging and learn to trust your sales consultants. They are who make the company money to begin with.

I have been working at Sears full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There are many smart people (but it differs wildly based on the department) and it's a great place to get retail experience for all sorts of products. They physical location is a nice place to work.

    Cons

A lot of fire drills, and very aggressive deadlines lead to less-than-ideal project rollouts. There are many IT issues that regularly impact ability to get work done. Overlapping functions across departments create political battles. Compensation OK but benefits are really horrible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Streamline. The company is too complex. Fix the execution first so that customers and members get a better experience. And fix the benefits so that good people actually want to stay.
