I worked at Sears part-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

Schedule is somewhat flexible. Enjoyed working as a team with co-workers.

Cons

Constantly berated by management on a daily basis for not closing every sale with protection agreements, and opening a sears credit card.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to communicate with employees instead of talking down to them.

    I worked at Sears full-time

    Pros

Flexible scheduling, in store discount and finding great deals. The Associates for the most part are all good people.

    Cons

The upper management is a joke. In the years i was there we went through 4 store managers and the last one is the worst of all.

To many visits to the store by cooperate, making the associates and dept managers work like crazy while the store manager sits on his ass and yells at everyone then goes home.

    I worked at Sears full-time

    Pros

Nice people, laid back, almost over-staffed with managers. Sit in the office constantly playing with Ipad listening to conference calls & reading Sear's version of Facebook. No one's in any hurry that's for sure!

    Cons

Conference call everyday for underperformers over the SAME multiple areas, so all the managers spend all of their time in the office instead of on the floor & coaching their team.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get the assistants & dept mgrs out of the offices & on the floor. Cut conf calls back to 1 to 2 per week MAX per STORE. No matter what.
