I have been working at Sears part-time (less than an year)

Pros

Pleasant customers and co-workers for the most part.

Cons

Managment lack basic people skills, are often ill-informed, do not follow through or communicate. Have witnessed more than one manager publicly humiliate staff. This behavior is pervasive in my location.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Yelling and subjective criticism are always unacceptable Communication is key, try it some time. The majority of your staff work hard, yet you allow slackers to stay on, you play favorities and your customer base suffers.

Management was rude but customers made up for it. Lastly, pay didn`t compliment hours worked.

I have been working at Sears full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Diverse working environment, opportunity to move around in company is opportune

    Cons

Turnover, customer management, terrible hours, no bonus pay,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think about how things affect the customer. Management at the store level has to deal with your shortcomings and explain why they shouldn't shop elsewhere when the customer has a terrible experience. Give your people raises every once in a while and there won't be a high turnover rate
