I have been working at Sears

Pros

There are many opportunities available. If you want a career in retail- Sears is great experience to have on your resume. You are given responsibility and are held accountable for your tasks. This is also great to have experience for career advancement. Being proactive is very important at Sears. If you are not happy with how things are working for you- effective communication is important to get ahead.

Cons

If you do not get along with your managers, your hours will get cut. It is a fast paced environment where there is a lot to do in little time. And if you can not handle it, then this is not the place for you.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

To be recongnized, you must know your department and your numbers. This takes an understanding of the industry in general as well as your demographic of the store you work for. Also, it is important to establish an effective line of communication with your staff. To guide others to reach their full potential they must be given the tools to accomplish the job.

    I worked at Sears

    Pros

Working with the customers and understanding their likes and dislike about the clothes or product.

    Cons

I have seen some rudeness fom the Management team as far the Loss Prevention team. They do not give their employees no respect as being a person. They think they are more than their employees. They down grade them, tell them if they don't improve on their Mastercards, they will be let go. This store should get a whole new staff or shut down. And the Management team, tell their employees to Greet every customer, but they DO NOT GREET anyone. They walk right pass an employee or a customer and do not greet them with a smile.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to appreciate employees more. And talk to them like they are somebody. Ask them for some suggestions on how to make a plan, for customers to continue to shop at Sears. Loss Prevention, stop harrassing the employees, when they have customers. Meaning, if a known theft go into the fitting room, and their is noone on the floor, and there is a Manager close by call them to check the fitting room.
