Assistant Store Manager In Training (Current Employee)
Palatine, IL

ProsThere are many opportunities available. If you want a career in retail- Sears is great experience to have on your resume. You are given responsibility and are held accountable for your tasks. This is also great to have experience for career advancement. Being proactive is very important at Sears. If you are not happy with how things are working for you- effective communication is important to get ahead.

ConsIf you do not get along with your managers, your hours will get cut. It is a fast paced environment where there is a lot to do in little time. And if you can not handle it, then this is not the place for you.

Advice to Senior ManagementTo be recongnized, you must know your department and your numbers. This takes an understanding of the industry in general as well as your demographic of the store you work for. Also, it is important to establish an effective line of communication with your staff. To guide others to reach their full potential they must be given the tools to accomplish the job.
