I have been working at Sears

Pros

many learning opportunities with the lack of managers or the lack of competent and consistant managers the opportunity to take on more responsibility for anyone who steps up is there, sometimes the training is a little hard to get if no one in your store knows how to do something or is to busy, I work with alot of great people right now at least most of them are, difficult people are very hard to get rid of and increase the work load for everyone else, good retirement benefits and stocks are available for any associate after the first year

Cons

inconsistency in management, I've been through 3 Store Managers and 5 Assistant Store Managers and I've only been with Sears for a little over a year, some have been good, some really tried, and others deserved to be fired, unrealistic expectations

Advice to ManagementAdvice

have a better back up plan for hard to fill management positions, and a better training plan for management new to Sears

    Pros

Good work environment; pressure to excel and provide results, but ample support provided for career growth.

    Cons

Hours can be long based on season and some of the quipment is outdated and can constantly breakdown.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give serious attention to pay parity in similar job bands across the network and consider providing more time off for excempt employees who average 55-65 hours per week.

I have been working at Sears

    Pros

Working on new projects and the management staff support you receive. The Management team is working hard to change Sears works and bring it more in line with the retail word. The only problem is they are not able to remove the image of Sears as an appliance only store. There put a lot of pressure on projects to perform and the timelines are very short for projects and you are held accountable to the timelines knowing they are not realistic. There is the a lot of reporting that needs to be done to justify if a project is not able to meet the Timelines

    Cons

Unrealistic timelines for projects to be completed

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The advice allow for more time to complete project that are high quility and not just meeting a timeline
