I worked at Security National Financial

Pros

I enjoyed the department I worked in, and the people I worked with. The pay was not bad, would have liked more, but accepted what they offered me.

Cons

There were really no major cons to working at Security National, except it was always really cold in the office.

I have been working at Security National Financial full-time

    Pros

Excellent paid training for all employees.
Generally a laid-back atmosphere and on the surface, flexible, supportive management.
Dynamic team members, and management takes a lot of pride in the company.
Solid company with great benefits and dependable pay.

This is the right company for:
A young return missionary who never aspires to grow.

    Cons

Nepotism is the lifeblood of Security National. Ask any employee.
Even if you consistently exceed every goal, education, and seniority you stand no chance at resources, recognition, or opportunities next to under-achieving part-time relatives.

This is the most closed LDS company I've worked for in Utah. Ask any employee.
Some of this is expected in Utah, but most companies are not like this. When employees talk about religion at work every day, and entire departments are homogenous it generates isolation and fear of repercussions. Remember, the foundation of this company is a very traditional and conservative industry.

As is typical with politics, management will tell you whatever they perceive necessary: including untruthfulness, avoidance, and taking an entirely different stand behind your back. They have no qualms about intentionally misguiding you. Management refuses to grant their employees the tools and respect to meet industry standards or to fulfill the job requested.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide equal face-time opportunities for the average joe and family. Invest in your employees. Encourage diversity.
