Great People to Work With But Do Not Expect to Receive Training or Much Guidance

I have been working at Selman Breitman

    Pros

Generally the people that work here are easy to get along with. They generally seem to be family friendly although of course they do expect you to bill a lot. Work-life balance is generally pretty decent.

    Cons

No training and pay is generally below market. They do not give the impression that they value their attorneys or staff. You also have to CYA as there is a high chance you will be thrown under the bus if anything goes wrong.

  2.

Management is Deficient; employee morale is low

I have been working at Selman Breitman full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits package; nice offices; SOME co-workers are easy to work with; the associate attorneys are polite to staff; usually able to get time off when needed

    Cons

Management is stifling and the office(s) are full of micro-managers; pay is low; employees feel undervalued and are definitely under-compensated. Consequently, employee morale is low; inflexible; overtime is not permitted, even when necessary; (most) senior partners think way too highly of themselves; the Executive Director of the firm is a nasty individual

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your employees what they are actually worth, especially if they've given you years of hard work; Get rid of incompetent, non-producing partners who treat staff poorly

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
