    I worked at Sensus

    Pros

Better than average communications from management at both the local and corporate levels, open communications within the divisions. Unique company culture, competent co-workers/leadership, good compensation/benefits package, sense of work-life balance. Really good HR staff at both divisional locations and the corporate office.

    Cons

Some divisions are not doing as well as others...recent off-shoring decisions have put several plants in serious financial turmoil.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offshoring is not the answer to cost savings in the long run; modernize accounting reporting and software, become more of a visible presence in the locations other than the corporate office.

I worked at Sensus full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

when i first started working there, it was fun to try to build the business

    Cons

    1) tons of management turnover (VPs and above), mostly due to poor performance, others for no apparent reason except they were scapegoats, (2) electric AMI/metering business is falling apart after the meter fires issue at PECO, (3) company tries to win business by lowbidding (especially on the network equipment side) which has angered many customers, (4) the company has few processes, procedures, and systems, and the few procedures they have are not followed, (5) employees are poorly treated - no bonuses while I was there, and a valued employee had to relocate to HQ but his job was eliminated 2 weeks after his arrival. This has scared other employees to relocate for the company. It is such a chaotic mess at Sensus.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

overhaul the company or sell it

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
