In this world of turmoil Sentry provides a conservative approach to insurance. The conservatism has help shroud the company away from the market changes for sometime now. Sentry has a mid-west culture of management. Dale Schuh -- our CEO -- is known to shake your hand in the corridor without looking up at your face -- incase you happen to bump into him and forcefully introduce yourself. Sort of depressing -- but when you make sure your job is secure in this market with that person at the head, you don't care of such minor details.

Cons

Location. Location. Location. Headquartered in Stevens point. Offices in Madison and Appleton. Not many oppurtunities in these places. No wonder the company has an aging employee population with trouble repleneshing fresh resources.

Advice to Senior Management

The senior management needs to open up to what is happenning in the market. It is not possible to stay in the market and away from it. If not sooner, the competition will catch up if we are not hiring and retaining talent.
