I worked at Serco, Inc. (More than 3 years)

Pros

The people you work with are pretty great. The pay was good and the company (depending on the office) has a family-first attitude with a caring feeling.

Cons

Corporate training is almost non-existant for things they want you to do with the job. Yearly evaluations are a joke. There is almost no interaction between upper management and the casual worker. Upper management does not really care about the employees, but only about the bottom line.

Advice to Management

Treat people more like you would want to be treated. Let your people in the market they are in have more say in how pricing is run since they know that market better.

    Pros

Serco is a growing company with plenty of vision. If you're enterprising and think of yourself as an entrepreneur, Serco is the perfect company for you. There are lots of opportunities to create new ways of doing business, and Serco's culture supports creative thinking and excellent customer service. The C-level executives really take the time to listen to the employees, and they take action in response to survey results.

    Cons

Because of the current lack of process discipline, daily life can be frustrating. There is a lack of proper planning and general sophistication. If you were raised in a large company with refined processes and procedures, Serco might not be a good fit. Flexibility is required - like 170 degree sauna prep and deep backward bend flexibility.

    Pros

    The Weekends and holidays off

    Cons

Management and supervisors Pay No room for growth Very filthy work environment

    Advice to Management

Act like managers, don't chose favorites or talk about your employee's personal issues behind their back. Management and supervisors are uneducated and unprofessional. The pay was horrible for the things they expect you to deal with. No room for growth, any promotions were promised to the main managers favorites before even telling other employees about the opening. The building itself was very filthy, the vent system leaked a black soot and moldy type substance, carpet under desk was never vacuumed, no trash can liners were provided unless your purchased and brought you own.
