I have been working at ServiceMaster full-time

Pros

Very flexible, Stable position even during unstable economy, great oppurtunity for advancement due to seeking prospects from within. The company over all is great. It just depends on the department and B-unit you are in.

Cons

No set training program in place. Current employees train new hires and temps which cause a lot of things to be missed. Certain departments need a bit more structure. You also dont get any PTO until you have been with the company for 6 months.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are a lot of changes taking place and I think things are headed in the right direction.

    I have been working at ServiceMaster

    Pros

    The service technician co-workers are great to get along with and work.

    Cons

    Sometimes you only get to sleep a couple hours before having to go back in the next day. You don't get any appreciation for good work completed. Don't call off that you wrecked and not be able to answer the phone the following day when it rings because apparently that is intolerable and will get you fired or suspended. Also having to use your personal phone for their business when communicating with the office or taking pictures out on a job site and get no appreciation when using your own phone when they are suppose to supply you with a camera and work phone.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Show respect toward employees. Understand the reasons for why they may not be able to make it to work. Show some appreciation for their lack of sleep and not be so hard on them if there is a mistake on the field due to the fact that sleep wasn't much of option before returning back to work.
