I worked at ServiceSource

Pros

ServiceSource is a great place to start a sales career, but not to grow one. It should absolutely be viewed as a stepping stone to another position.

Cons

The sales training you'll receive is specific to the job at ServiceSource, so it's difficult presenting your skill set to a potential employer. ServiceSource doesn't have any OEM Certification programs in place either, so if you're set on being a salesperson in the IT field, they're not doing you any favors.

View ServiceSource as a place to learn CRM use, working phones and email as sales tools, but nothing more than that.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

With any company going public, the culture is going to change. However, the vast shift that occurred impacted every single tenured employee. Your job at ServiceSource is, for all intents and purposes, a call center job: not an exciting/enjoyable role. The culture was the one thing that kept us there. Since the culture shift, there's been a significant loss of tenured employees, and ServiceSource doesn't view that as a tremendous loss, when in fact it is.

    Pros

    Great work collegues. Phenominal growth. In some teams better working conditions than others

    Cons

    Now that ssi has gone public, costs are beeing cut wherever possible. Really noticable in that current jobs are moved to KL

    Stop micro managing and strengthen partner relationships in stead of weakening them

    I have been working at ServiceSource

    Pros

    Things move very quickly. Plenty of new tools to make work more efficient. This also means a lot of learning opportunities. Overall office environment is great,lots of fun. Some office politics but could be a lot worse.

    Cons

    Learning curve could be steep at the start for some, but not impossible. For those who would appreciate a more stable environment, this may not be suitable because there are changes taking place.
