A Very Inspirational Experience

Former Employee - Software Engineering Intern  in  San Francisco, CA
Former Employee - Software Engineering Intern in San Francisco, CA

I worked at Servio as an intern for more than a year

Pros

CTO was great, the team was very encouraging. Hard work was expected, and gladly given. They provided an environment where I could learn as quickly as I could, if I gave it the effort.

Cons

Most of the engineers work through lunch.

Incredibly disappointing. I found only dysfunction and personality disorders.

Former Employee - Sales in San Francisco, CA

I worked at Servio full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They bought lunch once a week. Got to work in SF. The staff is largely composed of the best of the best.

    Cons

If you are looking for a supportive environment for your creative energies - stop. Commissions were threatened not to be paid to key sales staff because the deals were "too big." Most client projects end in over promising and under delivering due to a fundamental lack of scale in the virtual workforce. The sales department is managed by manipulation and intimidation. Departments and staff are pitted against each other.

I have been working at Servio full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Consistent pay, friendly environment among peers, a juicer, and free lunches - on Mondays.

    Cons

No leadership, unprofessional environment, not a sales friendly environment, and constant infighting.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve leadership skills, learn how to speak to other humans professionally, and do some soul searching.
