I worked at Shaw Industries as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

The company has done a great job with the co-op program. They provide valuable feedback that will help you improve yourself as a professional in the future. Fun activities help co-ops interact with one another. Great location if you are into the outdoors.

    Cons

The main headquarters are located in a very small town with not much to do. Other cities are pretty close by and provide plenty of activities during the co-op program.

I worked at Shaw Industries full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Competitive pay for area. Good managers. Good benefits.

    Cons

Like any real world corporation they need you for the hours you are hired. If you are late or out so many times they will write you up, but that was no a problem for me. The biggest down side was no sick time. If you/child are sick you had to use vacation days or accrue an occurrence (point)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

People genuinely get sick. Sick days would be a big plus. And training new managers without promoting the trainers into management position gets discouraging. College degrees are not the Holy Grail
