Current Employee – been working at Shelter Insurance full-time for less than a year
Pros – Excellent support structure from District and Regional Managers. Very competitive rates. Conservative underwriting helps keep good loss ratios. Great opportunity to make big bonuses. You run your own agency and control your own success. You can qualify for trips and conferences every year, sometimes in Hawaii, NYC, Florida, etc.
Cons – Must issue a minimum of 5 life policies a quarter or you go on probation, then if you don't again the next quarter you're fired. You get commission on new business, but no commission on renewals until after you're contracted and no longer salary.
Advice to Senior Management – Redo the monthly payment plan option to make it easier for clients. Offer more options to our broker arm for us to place property that Shelter isn't competitive with.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
