I worked at Sherwin-Williams as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

The atmosphere is great to learn sales experience and customer service. Sherwin Williams takes great pride in their customer service and make every customer that walks into the store feel welcomed and a sense of security and trust with the employees that work there. I felt that my store manager knew everyone by their first name that walked into the store and its great way to experience a family atmosphere in a corporate environment.
Once you work at Sherwin Williams you feel that you can fix anything in your house. It's a great learning experience.
Definitely a stepping internship/co-op, there are better opportunities out there for sure but I'm glad I had the experience.

    Cons

The hourly pay isn't ideal. I feel like the hours/work you put in do not reflect what you should be compensated. Raises are not ideal as well.

The Store Manager really defines how your expereince will be, not the program itself.

I felt like a lot of talent left because of the compensation.

Moving up in the company takes a long time, you have to earn your stripes and talk to the right people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ask what the person wants to gain out of the internship, and work to helping complete their goals.
More time with outside sales representatives - learned so much
